Buyers receive only a non-exclusive license to use the item — no ownership or copyright transfer occurs. The seller retains full ownership and all intellectual property rights.
Always check the individual product page for the exact license type and terms before purchasing. If no specific license is mentioned, the Standard License (as described below) applies by default.
Common License Types on Subixo
Sellers can choose or customize licenses, but most use one or more of these standard types:
1. Personal Use License
- Allowed:
- Use in personal, non-commercial projects (e.g., personal website, learning, hobby projects).
- Modify the item for your own use.
- Not Allowed:
- Use in any commercial project, client work, or product that generates revenue.
- Resell, redistribute, share, or sublicense the item.
- Use in templates, stock items, or on-demand services.
- Best for: Individual users, students, or non-profit personal use.
2. Commercial Use License (Regular / Single License)
- Allowed:
- Use in one single end product (e.g., one website, one app, one client project).
- Freelancers/agencies can use it to create an end product for one client and charge for services.
- Use in free end products (distributed without charge, multiple users allowed).
- Limited modifications as needed for the end product.
- Not Allowed:
- Use in multiple end products or for multiple clients (one license per end product required).
- Resell the item as-is or as part of a stock/template/on-demand service.
- Use in products that are sold (e.g., themes sold on marketplaces).
- Best for: Small businesses, freelancers with single-client projects, one-time commercial use.
3. Extended License
- Allowed:
- All permissions from the Commercial Use License.
- Use in end products that are sold or generate revenue (e.g., premium themes, apps, or products sold to multiple customers).
- Higher volume or unlimited end products (depending on the seller's terms).
- Not Allowed:
- Use as stock items, templates, or on-demand customization services (one license per customized product may still apply).
- Resell the original item without significant added value.
- Best for: Larger projects, SaaS apps, multi-client agencies, or products intended for resale/reskinning.
4. Resell / Master Resell Rights License (Rare / Seller-Specific)
- Allowed:
- Resell the item to others (as-is or modified).
- Grant the same rights to your buyers.
- Not Allowed:
- Usually restricted to specific categories; always confirm with the seller. r.
- Note: This is uncommon and often comes with higher pricing.
General Rules for All Licenses
- Non-Exclusive: The seller can sell the same item to multiple buyers.
- No Transfer of Ownership: You get usage rights only; copyright, trademarks, and IP remain with the seller.
- Attribution: Some items may require crediting the author (check product description).
- Updates & Support: Buyers are entitled to updates/fixes as provided by the seller (typically 6-12 months). Contact the seller directly for support.

- Prohibited Uses (All Licenses): Reverse engineering, decompiling (for code items), using in illegal/harmful activities, claiming as your own creation.
For Sellers
- Clearly specify the license type and any custom terms on your product page.
